about two days, a bit less or more if necessary, in a place with good
connectivity, alcohol and food. :-)
The hackfest is profoundly technical in its topics, although we did have a great UX Hackfest for designers in Brussels at the beginning of this month.

TDF theoretically pays for the devs/members who would have to travel from another country (unless we're like 15), and of course there ought to be
t-shirts, mugs, goodies, etc. The keypoint here is: no formality.

Sounds good. If we provide a venue in Tampere, is that OK? Or do you
want to have it in Helsinki? Tampere is close to the airport Ryanair
flies with cheap flights. What else do we need to organize besides the
venue, local assistance and local marketing?

You know, that is really up to you. Perhaps given the geography and what we already have scheduled, thinking about the wheather might be useful. But it's true, access to airport and ease of travel do matter a lot in practice.

As for what else is needed. The key is not in the numbers of participants. It's a hackfest, not an expo, and we're looking to expand the community, in this case the technical one. So looking for motivated participants is key here I think.

Best,

Charles.
