Hi :)
I think there is a feature request for DjVu already.  If not it would be good to have.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
I can't imagine we don't have one already though!

DjVu is an Open Format
http://djvu.sourceforge.net/licensing.html
Some general info about it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DjVu
Their website
http://djvu.org/

Sadly it is not as well known as Pdf so most users wont be able to view documents until something
is installed on their machines.  I'm not sure this is a fight we could take on.  It's tough enough
getting ODF out there.  On the other hand Adobe seems to be working hard to discredit PDF anyway so
maybe a little push might help free people from that proprietary format.  I think it's a discussion
for a different list.

I didn't realise PDF has it's own logo.  I thought each PDF Reader gave it a different icon so show
which program opens it by default.  When i set Foxit as the default Reader all Pdfs change their
icon to show Foxit rather than Adobe.  If there is a more generic logo for Pdf then i guess we
should be using that.  The Docs Team gets around the issue by just writing the letters "PDF" and
making that clickable.

I'm curious what other people think about the 2 issues but i think Charles would admonish us if we
tried to discuss it here.  Probably best to join yet another mailing list if you are not already on
the Discuss list.
Regards from
Tom :)

because is not the logo of PDF files, but of the GNU PDF project (which is a completely
different thing)

LibreOffice writes and reads PDF files, and PDF - when referred to the file format - is an Adobe
trademark with a specific icon (I have been the main spokesperson for PDF in Italy from 1992 to
1997, so I know quite a bit about PDF)

So... You are not liking the idea of cross support? Why is it wrong to use the GNU PDF logo on
web pages vice the adobe logo?

Our friends at the free software foundation would like it if we used the
GNU PDF logo vice Adobe's.

FSF sits on TDF Advisory Board, and John Sullivan has not raised the issue in that environment.

The logo is for the GNU PDF project, which is not representative of the PDF standard file
format registered by Adobe in 1992.

GNU PDF is a GNU project that aims to completely implement the Portable Document Format
standards in free software, which is something quite different from the file format
represented by the Adobe icon.

By the way, although LibreOffice is free software and reads and writes PDF, it is not listed
by the GNU PDF project amongst free software.
