Howdy,

OK - I don't think we ever directly addressed this.

My working assumption has been that this North American DVD iso is not
going to be hosted as a website anywhere - at least I never envisioned
it as such.

Yes this is currently a demo web site, but it will be an ISO hosted
somewhere, and a physical disc will be "sold" by someone, somewhere, for
those who cannot spend the time and bandwidth to download a 4.5 - 4.7 GB
files.

Rather it is an iso file that we would make available to anyone that
wants to produce a DVD - for example - specifically - spoke with a
number of Lunux User Group leaders that regularly burn DVDs as part of
their group meetings.

The DVD is used by LUB members when showing the software to others, such
as their employer, their school and the like, their prospective
customers.

That they like the ability to leave the disc after giving the
presentation and perhaps installing onto a few machines.

So - is this in line with others thinking on this? (This idea that we
are working on something that will be available for download, but not
on-line)

Once the DVD is "finished" for 3.3.1, then the ISO can be build and
burned into DVDs. I will email the team directly with an image file of
the 5.25" by 7.50" by 0.25" DVD case "snapshot" cover. We need to work
on a version for a non-snapshot cover. And maybe an insert as well.
Then there is the DVD label. Someone needs to start working on the
graphics for this DVD. The German language case cover is a green
background. Unless it is professionally printed, the green background
will use up a lot of ink/toner for individuals to print many copies of
it ourselves.

Yup - heard that exact request from a couple of people at the last Linux
Expo. NO solid backgrounds!

Tim there is a label, a couple actually -

I was thinking about the something that can be printed
easily by an inkjet or color laser.

The labels above will work for either an inkjet or a professional disc
manufacturer.

I have used Lightscribe to burn labels but it
takes 20+ minutes per disc for a good quality monochrome label.

We DO NOT have a good image for that.

So there are a few things that need to be worked on before we can
distribute a physical disc and case.

We could have the DVD case and CD jewel case versions of the cover and
the label graphic [color and monochrome] available alongside the DVD ISO
file for those who want to make their own DVDs for handing out.

The Case artwork: there is a good starting file on the wiki also, BTW.
(just don't have the link right in front of me)
