Hallo,

I have had some troubles with retaining a correct size window opening i.e.
*.odt files (linux, several versions of OO and LO) since years. I did some
experiments and found, that window size is stored within an *.odt but somehow
interferes with the defaults in
registrymodifications.xcu

Any time I used a command line like

soffice --writer --headless -pt printer file

while having a writer instance running, afterwards all files.odt were opened
in a distorted window.

I tried to correct the parameters in the
registrymodifications.xcu
but it was restored to the wrong settings on a regular scheme by someone else
(probably the writer prog itself).

Unfortunatley, I could not get any information, how registrymodifications.xcu
is handled by the office-suite.

It's a window manager thing, not really AOO responsibility.

It is LOO responsibility to properly restore its window size. So that is
a

bug.

I don’t get it. I’m using LO with Windows 7. Every time I open LO, it
opens in the same window size and position it was in when I closed it the
previous session. If there’s a bug in this area, it certainly doesn’t
show up on my computer.

As one of those «really weird»
Linux people, Virgil, I can report that my installation, i e, the Swedish
language edition of LO (4.1.1.2, Build ID : 410m0 (Build:2))
performs precisely as you describe above ; i e, that window size and
position is retained from the preceding session....
