There are many known bugs in the handling of bookmarks and indexing, but you
might want to read the contents of BUG# 74026 to see if any of the
procedures there helps.

Be sure to read the entire sequence of postings, as things are continually
changing. The procedure I described there (using an .fodt output) is not the
one already posted here (using an .xml output), so perhaps between the two
of them you'll be able to find something that works for you.

You might also see if checking View>Toolbars>Navigation or even the Sidebar
Navigator (they're different) gives you any help moving to where you want to
go. I don't use these much as they often take me to unexpected places for no
reason I can fathom, but check them out; maybe they've improved.
