     One way to do this is to
1. Use Draw to make your curved text-box.
2. Convert this box into a bitmap and save it as a PNG.
3. Use this as the background for your pages.
4. Use paragraph styles to place the text where you want it. (Use the Indenting & Spacing tab of the paragraph style.) With the curves in the background, you might need to have several paragraph styles for differences in indentation.

The 'attachment' shows the type of curved shape i am aiming for.  Ideally
text written into the box on page 1 would automatically flow into the box on
the next page but again i just do a manual cut&paste which is annoying and
also never quite works properly.
