For all the years I used OO.o (since pre-1.0), File -> New offered a
sub-menu of 'From Templates'. This allowed me to open a document using one
of my pre-defined templates. An earlier version of LO worked the same way.

In the currently installed 3.5 there's no way for me to get to
~/.libreoffice/3/user/template/letter.ott. At least, none that I've
discovered in the File->Open or Customize menus. And, when I try to select
one of the Templates and Documents at the bottom of File -> New I see a
warning box, "Error creating a new document: templates already exist." This,
of course, makes no sense whatsoever.

How do I make my templates available?

Rich
