[steering-discuss] sponsoring for the Hackfest

Hello,

as you know, there will be a Hackfest in Munich from September 2nd to 4th.

We have the offer from a service provider that they sponsor one round of
food and beverages for all attendees, roughly about 250 €. In return,
they would like to be mentioned somewhere.

I see no problems with this, given this is an offer we make everyone, so
multiple sponsors can join, and we do not prefer one single corporation.

Any objections?

Thanks,
Florian

Hi
No objection here. It sounds good

Depends on what "somewhere" is suggested to be.

E.g. no problem mentioning them at the hackfest place or hackfest
related wiki / webpages. But I'd see a problem if "somewhere" would be
the TDF or LibreOffice homepage (but I don't think, it was meant that way).

André

Very normal practise[1]. I'd mention them liberally in the beautiful
blog / write-up of the hack-fest highlighting its results
(personally)

  Thanks,

    Michael.

exactly, that's the plan. On the hackfest wiki page, and maybe if we
have a website for the hackfest, also on this (sub)site.

I have volunteered for cooking (actually, hacking) pasta at noon, but if someone else covers it on Saturday I am more than happy, and I will concentrate on hacking pasta on Sunday (if no one objects, of course).

I definitely will join that session. We could do load balancing with
a pasta cluster?

Hi
I think i would favour Italo's pasta. Does anyone remember the BBC's April 1st
documentary on Italian 'vineyard's that supposedly grew pasta instead of
grapes? Germany is famous for many things but Italy wins on pasta.

I think the pasta cluster would be too yummy that we would end up eating it :stuck_out_tongue:

We can try, but I see more of a salted boiling water balancing... It should be clear, though, that only code hackers and TDF volunteers will be able to eat hacked pasta. For the recipees, I have added some choices on the wiki, based on what I would prolly suggest today (still a long way to go to September).
