[libreoffice-users] Footnotes in LibreOffice 3.5.4.2

I'm using LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 on Debian Linux. After I create a
footnote on a page, say page 1, and create a footnote, let's say
Footnote # 1, how can I create a second footnote to reference the same
footnote #1? All I want for the second footnote is a superscript
numeral 1 in the body of the text. But, if I use "Insert >
Footnote/Endnote ...", all I see is Footnote, with the options of
"Automatic", or "Character". If I use Automatic I get the next number,
i.e. 2. If I use Character, and enter the number 1, which is what I
want, it creates a second footnote numbered 1. That's not what I want,
I just want two references in the body of the text pointing to the
same footnote numbered number 1.

Does that make sense? Any ideas?
