* The download pages should point to the release line that should be
offered. Currentely the pages would have "offered" 4.2 and 4.1 - for
which no builds are available, i.e. no downloads...
same for the rcs - it will only list what you set as version in the
shortcode
    [devDL,ver="4.2"]
doesn't make much sense, as there won't be any testing builds for 4.2
(or 4.1)

same problem on the portable page.

* [portableDL,type="Standard",ver="4.4"] <-->
[portableDL,type="All",ver="4.4"]

As you very well pointed out, these are technical issues.

That the homepage needs to have a special url-part is technical, the
other ones is just content-selection...

I'm not a tech guy, just a translator. Could you, please, point me to
some area where I can find info on this? Maybe some page with the right
links?
Thank you, in advance.

Not sure whether they have documentation in the wiki yet, but then again I
thought those were pretty self-explanatory. the version parameter just
tells what version to pick, so that one only needs one template that can be
adjusted, instead of having tons of manual links that need updating.

They are based on codeline, and not exact version, so 4.5.0 ..... 4.5.6
can all be covered by specifying 4.5
But of course when a new version comes out (4.6 or in this case 5.0) -
those links need to be adjusted. And then you can leave them alone for a
while.

And regarding the portable ones: if you only need one variant (if your
language is included in the "Standard" set of portable languages, you don't
have to also link to the "all" variant. - or other way: if your language is
/not/ included in portable's default set, then there's little point in
also linking to the "Standard" variant..

[menus don't fit in small browser-window]
I changed these already and tested in preview mode. Hope they are on the
right size now!

yes, looks OK → made active with newdesign. (and also changed dl-page to
use 5.0 and changed the LibreOffice 4 reference in the homepage's sliding
images to 5 :-)

ciao
Christian
