Hello everyone,

just a few more days, and this year's LibreOffice Conference in Milan will open!

Let me express my sincerest thanks and gratitude to all those who made that possible, especially Italo Vignoli, this year's main organizer, but also to all those other helping hands working hard behind the scenes, and our kind and generous sponsors.

This mail is to give you some last minute information about the upcoming event.

First of all, this mailing list, conference@global.libreoffice.org is the main source of communication and information during the conference. Every important announcement, like room changes, events and scheduling, will be posted here. We might also use our social networks and the website, but by closely monitoring the list, you will always be up to date for sure. Any other source of information is purely optional and not necessarily reliable.

In addition, this list can serve as communication channel for spontaneous arrangements - all participants and speakers are subscribed to it and can post. Talking about arrangements, this leads me to the second item, meetig Tuesday evening:

Many of you will arrive already Tuesday evening, and we're working to find some nice place where we all can gather (or rather, Italo does so - thanks a lot!). The problem right now is that it's hard to forsee how many people will join, so getting a reservation will be tricky. However, as soon as we have found a venue, we'll keep you updated. Otherwise, feel free to arrange something spontaneously on your own using this mailing list.

The current conference schedule is available online from

        https://owncloud.documentfoundation.org/shared/libocon2013/conferenceagenda.pdf
(press the download button in the upper right corner)

For the opening session on Wednesday morning, be advised that it will be in a different room and building than the other lectures. For details, please see the poster at

        https://owncloud.documentfoundation.org/shared/libocon2013/openingsession.pdf
(press the download button in the upper right corner)

Should you experience any problems or question at the venue, or need help, Italo Vignoli, the main organizer, kindly offered that he can be called on his mobile. The number is

        +39.348.5653829

Please only use this in case of an emergency, as Italo will be quite busy during the event.

The conference website, which Andreas Mantke kindly has created (thanks a lot!), contains a variety of other information, like details about the venue, the rooms, and eventually - as soon as we have the details - also about the video streaming tha will be provided. Have a look at http://conference.libreoffice.org

Don't forget to save the most important data locally on your machine or keep it as printout.

Last but not least, please don't forget the 10 € admission fee for the conference on Wednesday, if possible in a form that does not need money change.

And now, I really look forward to meeting all of you in beautiful Milan next week! Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. :-)

Florian
