Hi All,

*NEW: Monthly North American Quality Assurance+ Casual Meet, Greet & Get Involved Meeting*

Let me start by saying thanks to all of you who are on the user list and try to help each other out, I know the community is strong and growing. As our user base grows, so does the demands on contributors time for getting a whole list of cool projects done - from beginner projects like wiki organization/cleanup to advanced projects such as updating BSA to meet new and ever growing needs.

We're looking to tap into more of the talent here in North America - currently LibreOffice is a global project but most contributors are from outside of the North American continent. We're convinced that there is a great deal of talent here that could contribute to making LibreOffice a better software suite for everyone.

In order to do this we are setting up a monthly "meet, greet and update" casual chat for North Americans who want to get involved with Quality Assurance -- or really any part of the project. This get together will be quite a bit less formal than our biweekly talks but will provide updates, allow for feedback & open the doors to a ton of opportunities for you to get involved in the project - everyone from beginners to those experienced in programming and the like are encouraged to join.

If you are interested please email myself (Joel), the QA mailing list or the User mailing list so that we can gauge interest - we're hoping to have our first meeting next Friday (August 2nd) if we can get at least a few people to show that they want to participate. _*Mentors will be available to help all new contributors.*_

If you're thinking at all about how you can help the project - please join and be a part of the future of LibreOffice both here in North America & worldwide.

Also we encourage you to jump into our chat anytime to say hello and introduce yourself @ http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Warm Regards,
Joel
