São duas operações diferentes, em inglês "Cut" e "Crop"
Cut foi traduzido por Cortar e acho que está consagrado nos usuários
Crop consiste na operação de reduzir a imagem removendo partes que não
interessam.

Então, pode ser cortar, aparar, podar.
Eu usei recortar para ser diferente de cortar. Porém não sou linguista...
