I have LibreOffice installed on Linux Mint. I also have 5.4.5.1 installed on
a Windows 8.1 x64 HP laptop. I also have 5.4.7 installed on Windows 7 x64.
All run fine.

Now I installed 5.4.7 on a desktop running a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 x64.
This desktop is 6-7 years old and a twin of the system running Windows 7
x64. However, every time I start it, the shell appears and the cursor
becomes the rotating circle -- and things never proceed beyond that. I end
up restarting, though I probably could use Task Manager to kill it. I also
tried 5.4.6, 5.4.5.1, and 6.1.0, but all give the same result. I looked at
the bug-fix mentioned in the 5.4.7 / 6.0.5 release notes
(https://bug-attachments.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118060),
but there is no registry entry at that path. It's obviously got something to
do with Windows 8.1, but I'm stuck.
