Impress Print Options - Content

Hello Everybody

Can somebody give me a clue as to what these print options are used for in Impress.

Go to Tools > Options > LibreOffice Impress > Print on the main menu bar.
On this page, there is a section labelled Content with four options - Drawing, Notes, Handouts, Outline.
What happens when you select one or all of these options and then print a presentation?
I have tried test printing, but can see no change when I print.

Hello Peter,

Strange, but I couldn't find the options you mentioned on the Tools >
Options > LibreOffice Impress > Print dialog, but I managed to find
something similar (not equal) on the LibreOffice Impress tab from the File

Print dialog in the Type option from the Document section. For the

record, I'm using LO 7.0.0.3 on Linux Ubuntu.

In my case, depending on the selection, the presentation is printed
differently:
i. with the Notes enabled, notes inserted by the user is printed below each
slide (just like it is shown in the View > Notes);
ii. with the Outline enabled, only the title and texts are printed (just
like it is shown in View > Outline);
iii. with Handouts enabled, several slides are printed on each page;
iv. In the dialog I'm seeing, it's not available the Drawing option,
instead, it has a Slides option, which prints in the normal way.

Another observation: in here it's possible to choose only one of them at a
time.
Hope I could help.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Hello Felipe

Since writing the email, I have discovered that these print options for Impress only appear in macOS version of LibreOffice. They are similar to the options that are available for Impress in macOS when you Ctrl+P for printing and the Print dialog opens. The only difference is the options are labelled Slides, Handouts, Notes and Outline and the selection controls what is printed.

The mystery deepens and I cannot see what the purpose of these options is when you open the dialog LibreOffice > Preferences > LibreOffice Impress > Print in macOS. Especially when you have similar options in the Print dialog in Impress.

Windows definitely does not have these options. My very old Toshiba is operating Windows 10 (just managing)

I am using LibreOffice 7.0.3 which is the latest version.

It would be nice to have an answer from the person who coded the dialog in LibreOffice > Preferences > LibreOffice Impress > Print for macOS.
