Question: how are you looking for the file, through LibreOffice, such as in
    File -> Recent Documents
?
Since a PDF file is not normally a LibreOffice format, I don't believe 
it should show up there.

I say "normally" because when exporting a document as a PDF, one does 
have the option to "Enable OpenDocument File" ... I have not tested 
that, but it is supposed to make the PDF editable in LibreOffice, and 
possibly it would then appear in "File -> Recent Documents"?  Maybe?
