Sorry, not broken, but my fault nevertheless.
I updated to 2.4.4 and forgot to "flush" the cache. Silverstripe was
trying to locate new files that were added with the update, but failed
to do so. flushing the cache forces to re-scan the directories and
voilà, all is fine again.
