I'm not (yet) familiar with this part of the code but it seems to me that colors of standard.soc are hardwired in the code as well (http://opengrok.go-oo.org/xref/libs-core/svx/source/xoutdev/xtabcolr.cxx). The color names can be localized, but if we change the default colors, the translations should also change.
