Well, we should probably distinguish between the internal and external communication. Of course, I never use titles on Italian mailing lists, since I agree that there is no need for them in that context.

But in external communication or important mailing list I use them just to give a hint that e.g., if suggesting a blocker issue, we have already discussed and confirmed it within the Italian community.

And in this respect Italo does the same as me, see announcements like http://it.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discussioni&msgNo=5761
So it's not an unconditional aversion to titles, it just depends on context.

And for example I would find it useful that people authorized to speak on behalf of the Document Foundation provide a hint somewhere in their messages, so that we can judge their words accordingly.
