Hi Rimas,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I have created my compte with the name bruno. Can you add occitan project for LibreOffice ?

It will be possible do create a project occitan-lengadocian because occitan alone it is a grop of languages and no one langage ? Thera are occitan-gascon, occitan-provencal etc... If no, it is not a problem.

Cheers,
Bruno

Occitan lengadocian's project for LibreOffice

Hi all,

One person should do the manipulation to introduce occitan's translation in Libreoffice.org but he did nothing. I want give the priority for LibreOffice and I should like introduce the occitan's translations in LibreOffice.org but .... there are many "but" I don't really understand this explanation here http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/LibreOffice/i18n/translating_3.3.

I took the file openoffice_org-oc and I don't understand what I must to do ,

There is no one explanation in french, little and clear because I am not an specialist of the pot's files or po's files ?

Sorry to be a newbee in manipulations of translation 'files,

Bruno, first of all, keep in mind that for 3.3 we're reusing the strings from OpenOffice.org, and only translating those that don't exist in OOo ourselves. If Occitan localization of OpenOffice.org is in a bad shape, translating just those additional strings won't help much.

Having said that, here are your options for localizing LibreOffice files:

If you want, you can translate online. Just create yourself an account at our online translation system [1], and ask me (by writing to the list) to add Occitan to the list of available languages. Also tell me your user name so I can grant you the necessary language manager permissions.

If you want to translate offline, here's what you can do:
1) download the translation template file [2]
2) rename it to lo-build-oc.po
3) use a .po editor to translate the contents of that file. There are quite a few .po editors to choose from. My personal favorite is Virtaal [3], but you may also want to try poEdit [4], or something else. 4) upload the file and send a link to it to this list, or just send it here as an attachment (don't forget to compress it first).
5) enjoy the fruit of your work
