The acronym was born to slow down the "I like I don't like" saga that
developed immediately after the announcement, but I wouldn't call it
"official". It's just a nice option, that probably sounds better in some
languages than other.
As for the library association, I think that we "users" have been to a
number of libraries in our life to read or borrow books, but we don't
know developers' libraries, so I don't see the problem.
On the other hand, LO is just one letter short of LOL and LOO, and I
would avoid feeding the borgs with such an option.
