Hi :)
I tend to think that it's worth starting off with the one from the repos because it's easier 
because it's already there.  However, if there is the slightest problem then getting the "upstream" 
one from the official LO website makes sense.  Also good to get the upstream one when a new version 
is released although i tend to do that once per branch and even skip entire branches completely 
quite often.

Yepp.

Did you try a newer version?

I don't know if this problem is caused by LibreOffice itself or by the
underlying window manager (or by a bad interaction between the two), but
it's always worth testing a newer LibreOffice version. I'd prefer a
Vanilla version from www.libreoffice.org to a distribution's version,
because the latter in most cases has been slightly modified.

The closest bug description I found is
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68168
which happens to be also occuring on Linux.

And the CSV files, do they happen to be huge?
