Contributing to the project

Hello,

I would like to contribute to your project.  My preference is to write documentation, but I am also available for editing and proofreading.  I worked as a proofreader and I was the editor of a newsletter.  I also have had several technical writing courses.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

David Michel

Welcome, David. We're always looking for writers! Whether writing
something new or updating/improving existing material, we have a lot
of things that need to be done.

The first step is to subscribe to this list. To do that, send an email
to documentation+subscribe@global.libreoffice.org

Some general information is on this wiki page:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Development
See especially the links in the "First Steps" section of that page.

Do you have a particular interest in some topic, such as spreadsheets,
presentations, databases? How much experience have you had with
LibreOffice itself? No answers to these questions are "wrong" because
we can use people at all levels of experience and knowledge.

Hi Jean,

Thank you for your email.  I have subscribed to the list.

My preference in order from highest to lowest is Text, Presentation,
Spreadsheet.  My experience with LO is rather limited, but I am very
familiar with the MS equivalents, so I can learn the LO programs
quickly.

I can also edit documents for clarity and efficiency.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

Welcome to the team and thanks for joining. I have created an account
on the LibreOffice Alfresco platform for you and mailed you the
details.

Alfresco is what the team is currently using as a working platform for
documentation development.

Please feel free to ask all the questions you like about Alfresco and
I'll answer them for you.

Hello LibreOffice

I would like to volunteer as a Technical Author for LibreOffice now that I can devote time to projects like this after 26 years of technical publications. I have covered a wide range of subjects and produced a wide range of documents with a good deal of success (nobody is 100% perfect).

Could you please send me details of how to start. Also I will need an account so that I can log in to your documentation system.

If you need more personal details, then please get in touch.

Regards
