Hi,

I have formatted my Heading 1 style to have a tab position. When I generate
the table of contents, the tab character I insert in the Heading 1 string is
automatically converted to a space character and as a result the alignment
of the TOC (with its correspondingly tweaked contents 1 style) gets out of
order. I assume under the cover, TOCs are fields. I wonder if there is a way
to insert non-printing characters in fields retaining their functionality. I
have tried '\t' but it doesn't work.

Any ideas? Is that a bug?

Regards,
Hamid
