Debating on attending this - it's only 4 hours away, Pretty much a "lone

Can't say I know enough about the depths of OO/LO to have anything useful to
say... :) However, I have been happy with the rather transparent changes,
and am using LO in all my applications here.

LO is a fantastic opportunity to "shake the bugs out of the rug" that was OO
and get it not only compatible, but as useful as the competition (for
example, has anyone really found "Base" functional?).

BTW, here's some ideas in the "generall" Linux Fest thread here:

quick update - received an email from Mathew Williams, one of the
organizers of the fest, and they would much like to have a presentation
_about_ TDF/LibO (so not being overly technical on the coding
nity-gritty doesn't seem like a show stopper) and our sponsorship
(*smile*). I explained that we don't have a lot of money, but a table
for .org's only runs $75.00, and perhaps we can find a few dollars for a
bag insert ($300 to be precise)..probably not, but can try.

I've taken the liberty to send a direct email to another community
member that had shown some interest in the fest earlier to see if they
are planning on attending and if they might be willing to either present
and or staff a table. Hopefully we will hear back from him soon.

To be honest I don't see how I can swing another trip that soon after
the cross country jaunt later this month or I would really love to be
there also, sorry.

The booth (table) decision can wait a little bit, but as you pointed out
the presentation submittal needs to happen in a couple of days - in fact
I promised Mathew that I would send him an email this coming Saturday
with some kind of a status.

I'll dash off to the discuss and dev lists and see if maybe an email
there will pull anyone else in on this.

Thanks for the poke on this - let's try to make it happen.
