Did you set one of them (OOo or LO) to use links like Excel?  I'm not sure where 
to look that up

Hi Frank,

Thanks but I am using Ubuntu Linux.  I found that when converting 
OpenOffice sheets to LibreOffice that there is a problem with linked 
cells and one has to save the LibreOffice sheet to a new name (cannot 
re-use existing ods file).
