Hi :)
Sorry we have not been able to help.

Powerpoint is quite expensive and sometimes depends on the place you use
having the same version of MS Office as the one used to save the
presentation.

With LibreOffice you can use any version of LO or OpenOffice or many
other programs. You can even use the "Portable Apps" version on a
usb-stick in case the place doesn't have any decent office suite.

Also you can supposedly use an Android or iPhone or iPad as the remote
control but i am not sure how that works;

Sorry we couldn't help with the slide though :(
Apols, good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Thanks for the comment.

In the end, we transferred the whole thing to his Powerpoint machine. Promptly lost much of my careful layout (white fonts turned black; sizes changed, pictures moved) and he no doubt spent a happy time repairing the worst of the damage. But the video ran perfectly on PP :-{

I'm almost sure this has been around since early OOO days; I'll see about logging a bug report in the New Year (and maybe even trying it on Apache's OOO). It really was a show stopper for me, and I'm surprised nobody else has raised the issue.
