Allen Aan de handleidingen van Writer 4.2 is het hoofdstuk 'Werken met velden' toegevoegd. In dit hoofdstuk kunt u lezen hoe u velden definieert en gebruikt. U kunt bijvoorbeeld velden gebruiken om paginanummering (en aantal pagina's) in voetteksten op te nemen. Maar ook bijvoorbeeld de huidige datum of de naam ven het document. Het voordeel is dat iedere wijziging van de bron automatisch in het veld wordt weergegeven. Ook kunt u zelf velden definiëren waar u later kruisverwijzingen naartoe kunt maken.
