Hi Marc, :-)

I would also agree with Bernhard, that it would be better if the artist in
question is part of the LibO membership. We should try to keep to our own
membership as much as possible. But, I don't see anything wrong with sending
them an invitation to join the group with the idea of helping out with the
design of a logo/icon set. We just have to be careful not to upset our
graphic artist membership by getting these service done by outside
individuals.

We could certainly invite them to join the project, but my idea was
that the project could also accept a one-time contribution, with all
the source files and rights assigment needed to maintain and develop
the material for future needs.

If we invite them, I would assume then that we would have to expect
remuneration somewhere along the way?

My thinking was that it should be a pro bono thing. Hopefully the
kudos of contributing to a prestigious FOSS project like LibO might be
sufficient motivation.

That all sounds OK to me, again, as long as the other graphic arts members do not feel like they were not given the time to help contribute on their own.
