I prepared the menu for popup-navigation (i.e. you hover on the
entries and see its children), it's currently disable because lack of
proper css styling.

I think this could add some more information on the way you navigate, and it might solve the problem with the parent pages, when you don't see the submenu entries when you are on the parent page (like on the <home> entry.

Can the CSS problem be solved?

Did you already implement it on the staging site so we could have a look at this behavior?
