[libreoffice-users] LO 3.5 RC 1, Calc - Failed xls import due to "CaseWare" function?

Background: I have used, LO 3.4.x Calc on both Linux and Windows as well as 3.5 RC1 Calc on Linux. 

Issue Description: Excel spreadsheet opens and views fine in the default Windows Excel viewer. When 
opened with the latest (and older) version of Calc for editing, we see "#ADDIN?" in each of the 
cells instead of the financial data we are looking for. The formula's in question have formulas 
that are similar to "=cw_map("BR","111")". We are not familiar with "=cw_map" functions, but it 
appears to be some sort of export as a result of a "CaseWare Connector" product excel export.

We're not looking for LibreOffice to support Caseware Connector, but we would like to understand a) 
how the Excel viewer (and Excel) can interpret these "addin" functions with apparently no plugins 
and b) if LibreOffice is planning to eventually provide similar support?
