Hmm - what do you see instead? I mean when you're in the Admimin
section to create new pages, you should have the Content, Behaviour,
Todo,... Tabs on the left. The Editor is on the Content tab

If it was a permission issue, you either would not be able to visit
the Admin section at all, or would not have been allowed to create new
pages or publish the pages (but you should still be able to edit
them).

Please upload a screenshot and post a link / mail it to me personally
(not to the list, it will not be let through by the list)

Is this list the right place to ask basic questions on SilverStripe edititng
for TDF?

Yes - although a new thread is preferred in that case, makes it easier
to keep track.
