Hehe, we do have a few starting points - the question is what you might
be comfortable with. What's your area of interest (e.g. website
graphics, branding, typography, ...)? What is the time you want to spend
at the beginning? What tools are you comfortable with? Is your interest
rather usability/user experience or visual design? Please tell us - and
I think there is something we can do ... for example, one thing people
ask over and over again are web banners in different sizes (to spread
the news about LibreOffice).
