There is no easy way that I see.  I think you need to back-track to 
an earlier point in your problem.  How do the source cells gain their 
background colours in the first place?  They are presumably not 
random, even if they are imposed manually.  If possible, devise a way 
of using conditional formatting to apply these colours 
originally.  Note that the condition(s) can depend on other values 
than in the cells themselves, so you may wish or need to create 
additional data parallel to your source data which will govern the 
background colours of the source cells themselves.  (This parallel 
data can conveniently be elsewhere or hidden if preferred, of 
course.)  Alternatively, just include additional data that defines 
how you have chosen to select the background colours.

Once you have done this, it should be a simple matter to apply 
conditional formatting - probably depending on the original source 
cells, not the target cells - to your harvested values in the target cells.
