Een opmerking: heading is hier de richting waarin de schildpad gaat.
Staat niet in mijn woordenboek, maar is in de zeevaart heel
gebruikelijk. The ship's heading East. Staat ook niet in het woordenboek
op het internet, dus is het niet zo gek als men dit niet weet. What's
your heading? 256 Sir. Loods en roerganger.
Is inderdaad een bekende term in de zeevaart en staat voor "koers".
In de wereld van tekstschrijvers is de gebruikelijke vertaling voor
dezelfde term "titel" of "kopregel".
en elders: bevel is niet een bevel, maar een (schuine) rand of lijst.
Ha, da's een term die ik in mijn hobby (houtbewerking) inderdaad veel
tegenkom. In de literatuur wordt dat meestal vertaald als "afgeschuinde
rand". Heb het voor de zekerheid even in de Van Dale opgezocht en daar
staat een gelijksoortige vertaling.
