知り合いの物理学者(専門は素粒子実験)にお聞きしたところ,
「学生には, 誤差棒と教えている。物理学会での発表でも誤差棒と言っている
と思う。物理では、誤差棒で間違いないと思います。」
とのことでした。
分野によって訳語が異なることは多々あることですが, どれが一般的かを判断
するのは難しい問題なのですね。
私としては, 「誤差棒」を押すというのではなく, ご参考になれば少し貢献し
たことになるかな, ということで発言しました。
