Hello.

Since Apache OpenOffice 4.0 is going to remove support for legacy
StarOffice formats, I'm a bit worried about replicating it in LibreOffice
too.

This action can be positive from a developer point of view, but it can be
quite negative for digital preservation and interoperability reasons. What
about old documents that are stored in that format and need to be used
later?

Other projects care of legacy formats, like FFMpeg. I think Digital
Preservation issue is commonly underrated and can give too much problems in
the future.

Regards.
