Mac OS X is intrinsically 64 bits.

That is not true.
Only with Mac OSX 10.6 Server version Mac OSX itself was 64bit. Intel
versions had 64bit userspace, but not core in 64bit.

And LO/OOo builds are built against 10.4 anyway, and that is 32bit on Intel.
