No tool is perfect, but the latter is well maintained, with a big
comunity, and like you said, we don't have to wait days and even weeks
to get answers from the current only dev.

Also, we are likely to have less timeout and 500 errors with Discourse
as well, even if the latter, written in Ruby, is quite heavy server side
and *leaking memory* (had to deploy some instances when I had my own
company back in the days).

What's nice is that maintenance, fixes and features provided by
Discourse and its community are quite huge, from extensions, to skins
and well designed themes, there is everything to make a community from
2020 happy.

I would like to. Especially to see how the migration of content can be
completed. For example, it shouldn't be possible for users to comments
on questions that have been closed and marked as duplicate after the
migration, etc.

Migration script is here
https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/script/import_scripts/askbot.rb

Asking the community to contribute is great, but this is always the same
problem. Community members cannot locally deploy their own version of
what we have now and cannot help directly. That's the same problem I
have been describing since Feb 2018 now (the WordPress blog at that time).

Community can work on improving the migration script, for instance. So we can assure the whole knowledge base will be transferred to discourse.
