Deleting Impress Tables

Hello

I am puzzled at the moment so can someone answer this question.

How do you delete a table in Impress?

I am updating the Impress Guide and there are no instructions on how to
delete a table. At the moment I cannot find a way to delete a table in the
Impress software. Cut a table - yes, but not delete.

I am talking about an Impress table on a slide and not one embedded into a
slide from Calc or Writer.

Peter

If you insert a table into a slide, there are two ways to delete it.
1) Select an entire row of the table (all the columns of the row are highlighted). Right click any of the rows of that row. Select Column > Delete in the context menu.
2) Select an entire column of the table (all the rows of the column are highlighted). Right click any of the rows of that column. Select Row > Delete in the context menu.

You can delete a table from a Writer document using this same procedure.

Hello Dan

It is the simplest method of deleting a table that does not work. That is,
select a table on a slide and press the delete key.

You can delete a table as follows:

1. Select all the rows and use the row delete icon on the table toolbar.
2. Click your mouse button and drag a marquee over the table to select it
then press the delete key.
3. Insert a table using table design and then immediately press the delete
key. Does not work if de-select the table and the re-select the table.
4. Use insert table and immediately press the delete key. Does not work if
de-select the table and the re-select the table.

Maybe I have found a fault with the Impress software when simply selecting a
table and pressing the delete key. Does not work.

Also there is no delete option in the Edit menu.

What's the functional difference between cut and delete?

--Jean

Hello Jean

Delete removes the table completely. Cut removes the table, but places a
copy of the table on the clipboard.

Hitting the delete key is the simplest option and normally most users will
want to use this option.

I quite agree. And I'd like to have that in Writer, too. I suspect there is an enhancement request in for that functionality. Meanwhile, all we can do is tell users what does work.
